Almost all of my old original music I have in only the final songs, no stems or midi, cause a hard drive failure lost me everything. So I started using AI tools as a way to reclaim my old files. The AI can break the song back into separate audio files for each instrument and provide me with MIDI files to use for my DAW.

Along the way I found a lot of useful tools and fun tools to modify my music with so I decided to experiment with how I could push the technology in different ways to achieve what I want, just like I do with any DAW or synth.

I gave up on music my first go at it though cause of hate I received for not being a "real musician" for using DAWs. This time I've decided not to allow talk like that to dissuade me from music or experimenting this time around. I understand AI is a deep ethical dilemma and topic on everyone's mind currently. Even my own music was used to train these models with no compensation. I do not condone their actions and I do support/advocate for regulations to be made to keep their industry in check ethically. At the end of the day, I just make music for the sake of making music, and if I am enjoying what I make and the process of making it, then I'm going to do it.

I'm not just some guy, typing a prompt in, making tons of cash, and saying I wrote it. I'm not a large music platform, like Spotify, generating fake bands so that I don't have to pay royalties to real bands. I just want to get my thoughts out and make music, nothing more. In 20 years of making music I've never made a dime, this costs me money, and that's okay, cause the music is my reward.
